What Is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy aims to reprogram patterns of behaviour within the mind, enabling irrational fears,

phobias, negative thoughts and suppressed emotions to be overcome.

Hypnotherapy usually involves the person experiencing a deep sense of relaxation and heightened awareness, concentrating entirely on the hypnotist's voice.

In this state, the conscious mind is suppressed and the subconscious mind is opened. The therapist is then able to suggest ideas, concepts

and lifestyle adaptations to the subconscious mind, the seeds of which become firmly planted.

Common areas in which hypnotherapy can help include:

Weight loss:

Hypnotherapy motivates weight loss, reprograms eating habits and changes long-term attitudes towards food and eating.

A popular technique in weight loss is the Virtual Gastric Band.

Smoking cessation:

Hypnotherapy eliminates smoking habits and and other common addictions and provides viable, achievable strategies for

permanent change.

Phobias & fears:

Common phobias such as fear of flying, spiders and heights as well as stress, anxiety and depression can all be treated and eliminated.

During hypnotherapy, you are the controlling factor and it is always by your efforts that change occurs. This change can make dramatic differences in your

lifestyle, success and overall feeling of well-being. The therapist is there to facilitate the changes that you identify, and to help and support you

through making those changes.
